Create a website like this!

I never thought I would be talking about making websites and teaching others how to set up and run their own websites and make a living online, but I am and this is how I got here...

Back in 1999, I started my first website www.thebodyworker.com

It started as a fluke. I was burned out from my massage therapy practice that I had been in for 15 years so I started thinking about teaching massage to others. What came about - to make a very long story short - is a website. At first I didn't make much and didn't really care to. It was a hobby and passion. I had read an Ebook called "Make Your Site Sell" which you can now read for free. Even though it is a little outdated, you can still get the concept that I use here and in my other sites.

It got me started playing with the idea of making money with websites.

I set up this site to sell an ebook that I had written and I started selling E-books within about a month all due to the power of using Site Build It! I played with selling a few manuals and hosting a members only site, but I discovered I could make more just by providing the information for free. The ads on this site are what pay me just to do what I love - write about massage and other topics.

My friends still can't believe it when I tell them!

The way the ads work is this:

Well, you can sign up with Google for a free Adsense account and that allows you to put Google Ads on your website. Now someone is paying for those ads and every time someone clicks on those ads...guess what...You make money!!

The more websites, pages and information that you have, well the more money you make.

I am now making a solid side income enough to cut back my massage practice to 2 1/2 days a week. The other days I am home writing, going for walks and working in the garden and writing and creating. I couldn't be happier!
