physical demands

Being a Massage Therapist requires knowing and using the best body mechanics possible. I have never been real good at maintaining good body mechanics. Now after 11 1/2 years of deep tissue massage work, I am feeling the strain in my body. I have an ongoing neck and shoulder issue that has caused me to step back from the amount of massage I can do. Since the issue seems to be caused from my lingering and habitual stances during my work, it is not healing well at all.
Also we have to take good care of our own body. We need the right amount of exercise, sleep and nutrition to maintain our strength. That is the only way we can give what we need to give to others.
