National License as Massage Therapist

by Sarah
(CT LMT Instructor)

Is there any such thing as a National Licensed Massage Therapist, which would allow you to practice in any state in the US . . and abroad? I'm a Licensed Massage Therapist in the state of CT, and someone in CA told me that such a thing exists . .that very few people know about it . .The question keeps coming up in my Massage Therapy classes that I teach . . since I'm an MT Instructor. Please clarify asap . . If so, how would I go about getting one? What are the requirements? I'm NCBTMB Certified . .but that's not a license. . .

Thanks

State rights
by: Hans Albert Quistorff LMP

As I understand it the constitution of the united states grands to the states rights that are not specified in the constitution to the federal government. There for we are stuck with state licensing or lack of it as the case may be.
