Massage Practice Builder
Starting, Building and Maintaining a Massage Practice or finding your "Dream Massage Therapy Job" depend on many factors. Getting the best education, finding a great location, having a great technique are all just a small piece of the puzzle. The most important factor is "YOU". Monica Roseberry in her book "Marketing Massage" traveled around the US to find out what massage therapists were doing to create successful and rewarding practices. What she found out was that it has more to do with who the person was than what marketing techniques they used, what massage techniques they practiced or where they were practicing. She came up with four characteristics of a successful massage therapist: - A Desire to Serve
- The Commitment to Succeed
- A Strong Emphasis on Professionalism
- A Commitment to Excellent Customer Service
Building a practice has little to do with marketing. She also talked about how some therapists did nothing more than print a business card and were highly successful and others spent many dollars on marketing and couldn't make their business work. Starting and Building a Massage Practice or finding your ideal job in massage really depends on you and your beliefs. What we have in our lives is a reflection of our beliefs about ourselves. If you are not sure what your beliefs are just look at what you have in your life. Creating Your Ideal Practice that is both successful and rewarding is about getting in touch with yourself. As helpers we often get caught up in focusing our attention on others and forget about ourselves. If there is one thing I can say I learned after 17 years as a massage professional is that it is more about taking care of myself than taking care of others. Every time I think I am taking care of myself, something else shows me how to take care of myself even more. There are many ways to take care of yourself professionally. Getting regular massage, working out, eating right, taking vacations, doing creative projects, dancing, gardening, reading a good book or whatever it is you do for yourself that allows you to feel connected. You can be doing all the right things and still often end up feeling like you are exhausted at the end of the day. You can still get injured on the job or have job related pain. There is another way to take care of ourselves and our internal needs and that is through the process of supervision and peer supervision groups. You can find out more in the Massage Practice Builder Section of this website which
is dedicated to providing you with the information and support that you need to co-create your practice (and your life). All of the information you need to start your business by creating a strong framework with clear boundaries and a clear intention is available at no charge. I have reviews of other programs and related books. I am able to provide this to you for free by using affiliate programs and Google Adsense program and will teach you how to use these programs yourself for additional income. My focus is on learning about ourselves, our false belief systems, our inner needs to rescue others and how these things are reflected in our practices. You may be surprised to see just how big an influence these things have in creating the business or job that we dream of. We learn about ourselves best in relationships. Peer supervision groups and peer supervision provide such relationships where others can witness your being you!
