Massage Associations
There are many different massage associations in the United States and Canada. The main reason for joining a massage association is so that you can find liability insurance. There are other sources of liability insurance that you can get without joining an association. See the section on Liability insurance for more information.Choosing an association will depend on your needs for insurance, support and budget. The three major ones in the US are:The American Massage Therapy Association, the Associated Bodyworker & Massage Professionals (ABMP), International Massage Association (IMA).
