Massage Therapy Certification, Lombard, Illinois
National University of Health Sciences Lombard, Illinois
The comprehensive Massage Therapy Certification Program at National University of Health Sciences is accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation and gives you all the courses necessary to pass the National Certification Examination that is required of all new massage therapists in Illinois.
At National, your massage therapy education will take place on our 32-acre suburban campus with full access to the same educational resources and clinic facilities used by our graduate degree students.
Because it is important for you to understand the structure and function of the body as it relates to massage, our 690-hour program emphasizes basic science courses such as anatomy and physiology, with the unique opportunity to learn the relationships of the body from the outside in during gross anatomy laboratory.
Your technique instruction will focus on fundamental Swedish massage, chair massage and sports massage as well as therapeutic and relaxation therapies, wellness concepts and special populations.
To help you decide whether a career as a massage therapist is right for you, National offers a four-evening course, “Introduction to Massage.” The course is a mandatory requirement for entry into our massage program, but if you decide this is not the career for you, you will still have learned a variety of massage techniques for your own personal use.
