Academic and College Policies
Admissions Reapplication Process
Students who have previously attended RainStar, but have not been enrolled for one term or more and have
not been granted a formal leave of absence, are required to apply for re-admission for the term in which enrollment is intended. If the student has attended another college/university, that student must submit official transcripts of all completed academic work to the Registrar. Failure to report such attendance is considered misrepresentation and falsification of college records. RainStar reserves the right to deny any student based on falsification of application materials.

Ethical Standards
All employees and students are expected to maintain the highest level of ethical standards. To that end, no
employee may solicit either students or RainStar clients for personal gain. Further, no student may approach RainStar clients for potential gain. Any violation is to be reported to the President.

Attendance
Students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of each course in order to be eligible to receive a passing grade for the course and attain satisfactory progress toward graduation.

Late for Class
Students who are more than fifteen minutes late or leave more than fifteen minutes early will be denied the full hour credit for attending that particular class.

Repeating Courses
Failure to complete the minimum requirements for any course will necessitate repeating that course.
Students may take that course at the next space available offering and will be charged the standard tuition rate appropriate for the program (see the section: Tuition Rates and Other Fees).

Cancellation and Refund Policy
Students are required to notify RainStar College
in writing of their intention to withdraw by completing and signing an Official RainStar College Status form and submitting to the RainStar Administrative Office. Students who are on academic, financial, or other probation or suspension will be involuntarily withdrawn at the end of the second month of the probation or suspension period if not rectified.

Class Size
Class size varies depending on the particular course, time of the year, time of day that classes are scheduled, and type of classes. The average instructor/assistant to student ratio is a maximum of 10:1 in massage classes and a maximum of 20:1 in lecture classes.

Grading Policy
Faculty will provide students with a course syllabus that outlines course requirements, including methods of
evaluation to determine achievement of course content.
Grade: A 90%-100% 4.0 Excellent
Grade: B 80%-89% 3.0 Good
Grade: C 70%-79% 2.0 Average
Grade: F 0%-69% 0 Failure
Grade: I Incomplete*
Grade: IP In Progress
Grade: W Withdrawal
Grade: AU Audit
Grade: S Satisfactory
*The “I” remains on the student’s transcript until the course is completed for a grade.

Qualitative Evaluation
Students are required to maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA). If a student is not maintaining a 2.0 cumulative GPA when measured at any of the checkpoints, the student will be placed on Academic Probation until the next checkpoint. If the student does not achieve a 2.0 GPA at the end of the probationary period, the student must be removed from the College.

Grade Disputes
A student disputing a grade should first attempt to resolve the issue with the Instructor. If the dispute
is not resolved at that level, the student may appeal in writing to the Dean of Education. Grade disputes must be initiated within four weeks from the course end date.
