Massage School Scholarships and Grants
Once you decide to go to massage school you will need to figure out how to pay for it. There are some Massage School Scholarships and Grants that are available, but massage school should only cost about $10,000 to $12,000. While that isn't any small amount, it is easily affordable if you plan and save. If you can't afford to go to massage school, you may want to consider looking into the issues around money that you have that keep you from doing what you want to do. Money issues usually reflect a deeper issue that has to do with many things like self-esteem and self-worth. Since many massage therapists end up struggling to make ends meet in a massage therapy career, you may do better if you work out your money issues before becoming a massage therapist.That being said here are some agencies you can contact to find out more about massage therapy scholarships and grants:
Massage Magazine Scholarships
MASSAGE Magazine Awards $1000 scholarships to 5 students of massage or touch therapy. Students need to be studying at a school that participates in the Massage Magazine Schools Program.
American Specialty Health Scholarships
American Specialty Health (ASH) Offers scholarships to students studying various alternative therapies including massage therapy. Past awards were valued at $500.
Spa Foundation Scholarships
You may be eligible for Federal Grants if you attend an accredited massage school (but there are only about 75 schools out of 1500 or so that are accredited.)You can check at www.fedmoney.org Other low cost loans may be available. Your massage school will be the best source for helping you with massage school grants and scholarships.
