Massage Magic

by Melody Mann
(New Jersey)

We create friends with the right touch.
Massage has been a part of my life before I knew how to spell massage. I was only aware that my family and friends felt better when I touched them. I met a friend 11 years ago who rode his bike anywhere he needed to go. His muscles were tight and he had not had a massage in a long time. He was a believer in massage and could give one very well. He really didn't have the money to pay someone for a massage so,One day he asked me to walk on him. I did and he told me that I had a gift.
I remember learning over and over again how to feel deeper into the bones and muscles... until I began to see them through my hands, finger tips, feet, and elbows. It still amazes me and often I close my eyes when I am giving a massage.
I bought a massage table and some books. Amazing people show up in my life from time to time that teach me something that is priceless to me. I am constantly learning. I bought my table 8 years ago. I am not a therapist. By law I can not use the name Massage Therapist. I never went to a pay up school. I am a student of the university of life and the school of hard knocks.
Challenges? hmmm wow there are so many that I have been through...shyness, being afraid that I wont be good enough...questions like can I accidentally hurt someone...especially in the early years.
Sometimes I think that I could be helping more.
Also it is sometimes hard to get people to let me walk on them. I am very good with my feet but some people do not no what they are missing.
Success! Success is when the friend I am massaging and myself both enjoy the massage and are healthier because of it.
I absolutely love massage and am very excited to continue and learn much more.
Thankyou for this chance to write.
I wish everyone great massages!
Melody
