is this how massage should feel?

While receiving a massage in Rosarito, Mexico, the masseuse explored some areas I wasn't expecting for my massage--therapeutic suddenly turned very awkward.. In retrospect, I should've been much more assertive for my feelings/boundaries...but at the time, I wasn't sure if this was a customary mexican massage tradition. Anyway---the nurturing healing of a massage treatment didn't happen at all, I felt molested.

Massage is very different in Mexico. There aren't any regulations or training. If you are talking about having your underwear pulled up and your gluts massaged it is common there. It isn't personal - just a cultural thing.

 Massage Therapists appreciate feedback

Especially since a massage in mexico (or any other country for that matter) will probably be a little different than a massage by an American trained and licensed massage therapist, you should speak up and let the therapist know what you are expecting and needing. I urge my clients to let me know about the pressure of the massage and if theres any areas they feel i could focus more time on and especially if they are ever uncomfortable for any reason.
I hate to be rude in any way, so dont take this the wrong way, but I feel that if someone has received a massage they are unhappy with, they should have spoken up the moment they felt they werent getting the massage they were expecting.
