I went to the original location of Healing Hands in Escondido, CA. Laguna Hills is a satellite location, but offers almost every class that the Escondido location offers. Going to school at Healing Hands changed my life. I found myself in a totally supportive, non-competitive environment where my new massage skills immediately bloomed, and I made some very close friends. Every teacher was excellent. They do everything in their power to help you succeed, and to learn the material. Every class includes hands-on massage practice at every class meeting. You give and receive a massage every time, with the teacher walking around supervising, answering questions, etc. I've been told that Healing Hands has more of an alternative approach. I'm not really sure what that means; I was so happy from the first contact with the school that I never bothered to investigate the other schools in my area, other than look them up online. Healing Hands School was personally recommended to me by a good friend whose word I trust, and I love the place even more than she does! Healing hands offers a large variety of modalities at both locations, both Eastern and Western, plus an in-depth, very comprehensive Anatomy/Physiology class. We even do hands-on work in Anatomy; we trace the origin and insertion of key muscles, and palpate them on our partner and ourselves while performing different actions. Healing Hands offers classes in other Holistic disciplines like energy work, herbology, aroma therapy, plus Tai Chi, business practices, self care, Holistic Retreats, and so much more. The sports class volunteers at the LA Marathon every year, also at the San Diego Rock 'N Roll Marathon. I give Healing Hands the highest possible recommendation, and in fact when I have more experience in the field, I'd like to go back and teach there.
