Have you ever had problems with your hands?

by sandra
(Canada,B.C)

I am scared that if i go into the business i might get hand problems at a early age. Have you ever had hand problems?

Answer: I have never had any hand problems in 20 years. It is just a matter of taking care of them like anything else. Get regular massage. Know your limits on how many people you can see a day and how much pressure you want to apply. Learn proper body mechanics and learn to get your needs met outside of your massage practice so that you aren't constantly trying to fix people using your body.
You could get an office job and end up with carpal tunnel. You could get a job in a grocery store but you could get a problem with your elbows or forearms. Everything has it's risks.
