fair wages

by Diane
(ohio)

I am a massage therapist who has been working in the field for over 11 years. I started out working for a Chiropractor who totally took advantage of me by paying me an hourly wage and doing workmans comp people all day. He charged them 4 x's the amount he paid me and worked me to pain. I then went to a fancy spa that closed after 4 month due to owner skipping town. I now work in a salon near home. I have brought a lot of client's to the business. I love it there but feel I'm underpaid. I supply everything from sheets to lotions and take home every night my sheets and wash them at home. I make 55% of whatever I bring in. I know other therapist that say they make 60 to 65% and and don't have to pay for supplies. I have 1 friend that makes $100 a day no matter what she does and does not pay for supplies. What is the norm and I would like to hear how other therapists in Ohio get paid. Thanks so much for anyone's thoughts. Di
